Questions Guides Actually Ask
How do I prove I qualify?
You don't. Tell us your work when you book and the rate is yours. We built this practice around trust, and this community runs on it. If your living depends on wild places, that's enough for us.
I'm seasonal and my schedule is chaos. Can this actually work?
Yes. Every visit is telehealth, so you can meet from a hut wifi connection in the off-season or a town day mid-season, anywhere in Washington. There are no contracts and no visit minimums at the standard rates. If you disappear for a guiding season and come back, we pick up where we left off.
Will medication dull the edge I need for my job?
This is the most common fear we hear, and it deserves a straight answer: the goal is never to blunt you. Judgment, reaction time, and risk tolerance are your livelihood, and we treat them that way. Every plan is built around your job's demands, we start conservatively, and nothing changes without your buy-in. Untreated depression, anxiety, and sleep debt degrade decision-making far more than well-managed treatment does.
I watched something bad happen on a trip. I'm fine, mostly. Is this for me?
Especially then. Accident and rescue exposure adds up quietly — sleep that doesn't recover, replaying the moment, a shorter fuse, avoiding the zone where it happened. Dealing with it early is faster and easier than waiting until it costs you the work itself. If you are in crisis right now, call or text 988.
Does the rate apply to my family?
Yes, through our Family Rate. Every additional member of your household gets the same numbers you do: $250 evaluations and $155 follow ups.
I just climb and ski a lot. Do I count?
We love that, and you're exactly who we built this practice for — but the Field Rate is for people whose paycheck depends on the outdoors. Our standard prices are flat, published, and have no surprises: $350 for an evaluation and $175 for follow ups. See full pricing.
